The Emperor's new furniture

Well here we are again. I decided to go with a bit more of a dramatic opening for this story (insofar as it's possible to create drama using little plastic men) and I think it does the job well enough. First of all though, I want to apologise for the poorness of the special effects in panel 3. I tried. I really did. I looked around the menu options in two different graphics packages, experimented with a number of things, and eventually decided it wasn't worth sixteen hours of effort for a single panel and left it at what I had. Which is this. So you're stuck with it.
In contrast though, I'm quite pleased with the way the shots of the snowspeeder came out. I'd like to just take a moment to acknowledge Lego's first snowspeeder model in this comic, and a very fine model it is too. I'd also like to acknowledge Matt and the clan, for tracking down a mint in the box version of this for me on Ebay, which I promptly opened. But for all you die-hard collectors who are squirming at the thought of that, doesn't it offer so many more possibilities OUT of the box? Look, I've made a comic about it.
I also should point out the heavy modifications I had to make to the cockpit in order to fit the Jar-Jar minifig into it. These minifigs look great, but the more complicated ones are a real pain to pose.
